Why crypto prices in Pakistan can be different from the global price
The dollar rate
The PKR price is the dollar price times the USD to PKR rate. When the dollar moves against the rupee, every coin’s rupee price moves too.
Peer-to-peer premium
In peer-to-peer trading, sellers set their own rate. When many people want to buy, the rate goes above the market price. When many want to sell, it goes below.
Fees and spreads
Exchanges and payment methods add fees. A coin that costs Rs 100 here may cost a little more once fees are added.
What moves crypto prices?
Crypto prices react to demand and supply, big company and government news, interest rates and the US dollar, regulation, and the general mood of investors. The Fear and Greed index and the gainers and losers tabs on this page help you see the mood at a glance. For the stories behind the moves, read our latest crypto, dollar and economy news.
How to buy crypto in Pakistan
- Read the rules first. Pakistan is building a legal framework for virtual assets and has set up a regulator called PVARA. Rules can change, so check the latest official guidance before you trade.
- Pick a trusted platform. Use a well-known exchange that supports Pakistani users and has clear fees, identity checks and a good security record. Be careful with unknown apps and with anyone who promises fixed profit.
- Verify your account and turn on two-step login. Complete identity verification and protect your account with an authenticator app, not only an SMS code.
- Start small and compare prices. Use this page to check the live PKR price before you buy. Peer-to-peer rates can be slightly higher or lower than the market price.
- Store it safely. Never share your password, seed phrase or one-time codes with anyone. Long-term holders often move coins to a personal wallet.
How we get the prices and how often they update
Prices, market caps, volumes and charts come from CoinGecko, which averages data from many exchanges. The USD to PKR rate comes from a live exchange rate source. While this page is open, prices refresh about every minute. If the live source is busy, the page shows saved data that is refreshed about every 15 minutes, and the line at the top tells you which one you are seeing. The prices shown are global market prices converted to rupees. They are not an offer to buy or sell at that price.
