Prices in Pakistan can change much faster than many people expect.
A new fuel rate, movement in the rupee, changes in crop supply, or higher transportation costs can affect what you pay at the market. This makes it difficult to keep track of petrol, gold, silver and other everyday items separately. Daily prices in Pakistan bring the latest available market rates into one place.
Here, you can quickly check prices for fuel, gold, cryptocurrencies, metal rates and currencies. The rates are read from live market feeds, although the actual retail price may differ by city, seller, brand, quality, and quantity.
Fuel & energy prices in Pakistan today
Fuel prices matter far beyond the petrol pump. When diesel becomes expensive, transportation and delivery costs can also rise, eventually affecting food, construction materials, and other goods.
Petrol, high-speed diesel, light diesel oil, kerosene and jet fuel all come from the same officially notified table, so they move together whenever a new notification takes effect. LPG is quoted per kilogram rather than per litre, and a domestic cylinder is priced from that notified per-kilogram rate.
Actual LPG and fuel selling prices can still vary slightly because of freight, location, and other applicable charges.
International crude oil prices today
Pakistan imports a large portion of its energy requirements, which means global crude oil prices are important for the local fuel market.
The global benchmark
Brent is commonly used as a major international benchmark, particularly for oil traded in Europe, Africa, and parts of Asia. It is the one Pakistan’s imports track most closely.
The US benchmark
West Texas Intermediate is the primary U.S. crude benchmark, priced inland, so it reflects the American market more than the seaborne trade.
Supply and shipping
Concerns about shipping and Middle Eastern supply routes can push both benchmarks up sharply within days, long before anything changes at the pump.
Fuel prices around the world
Fuel prices across Asia vary widely because every country has different taxes, subsidies, exchange rates, refining costs, and energy policies. Oil-producing countries often have lower retail prices, while import-dependent economies may face higher rates. Pakistan’s local rupee rate and international dollar comparisons can also vary because of exchange rates and the fuel grade used.
European retail fuel tends to be more expensive because taxes make up a significant part of the pump price in many countries, and recent data shows large differences across the region. The European Commission also publishes weekly consumer petroleum prices for EU member states.
Fuel prices outside Europe can look very different. Tax structures, domestic production, government support, refinery capacity, and distance from major supply routes all play a role. One thing to watch when comparing: American pumps quote per gallon rather than per litre, so those figures are converted here before being shown next to everyone else.
Gold & metal rates in Pakistan
Gold remains one of the most closely followed daily prices in the country. People buying jewellery, saving in gold, or trading precious metals usually watch both local and international markets at the same time.
The international market quotes gold per troy ounce in dollars. Pakistan buys by the tola, and much of the retail world works in grams, which is why the same metal produces three different numbers on the same day. Every figure on this site says which unit it is in, and the gold cards let you switch between tola, grams, ounces and kilograms.
Copper, aluminium, brass and iron do not have one fixed nationwide retail price. Scrap condition, purity, city, quantity, and whether the metal is new or recycled can create large differences. For this reason, local dealer rates should be checked before buying or selling these metals.
Cryptocurrency prices today
Cryptocurrency markets operate around the clock, so prices may move even while you are reading the page. Instead of presenting crypto prices as fixed daily numbers, this page shows the latest live price along with the 24-hour change.
Bitcoin remains the largest cryptocurrency by market value and is usually the first digital asset people check when following the crypto market. Tapping any coin opens its full detail view, with the live dollar price, a rupee conversion, the 24-hour high and low, market capitalisation, circulating supply and charts running from 24 hours out to a year.
Currency rates in Pakistan
Currency rates are important for importers, exporters, travellers, freelancers, students, and overseas Pakistanis. Rates may differ between interbank trading and open-market exchange companies.
These are conversion-market reference rates. Banks and open-market exchange companies can quote different buying and selling rates, so your actual cash exchange amount may differ.
Dollar rate in Pakistan
The US dollar is the most closely watched foreign currency in Pakistan because it affects imports, exports, fuel, foreign education costs, and international payments.
Saudi Riyal rate
The Saudi Riyal is particularly important for Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia, families receiving remittances, and people travelling for Umrah or Hajj.
UAE Dirham rate
The UAE Dirham is widely followed because of Pakistan’s strong travel, employment, trade, and remittance connections with the UAE.
British Pound rate
The British Pound generally trades well above the dollar in rupee terms, and matters for students, families and businesses connected to the UK.
Euro rate
The Euro is used across much of Europe and is important for students, travellers, businesses, and overseas payments.
Currency converter
A currency converter helps you to quickly calculate the value of one currency in another without doing the math yourself. It is especially useful for travellers, freelancers, overseas Pakistanis, students, importers, exporters, and anyone receiving or sending international payments.
You only need to select the currency you have, choose the currency you want to convert it into, and enter an amount. The converter then uses the latest available exchange rate to show an estimated converted value.
1Select from currency
Choose the currency you currently have, such as USD. You can search by country name as well as by code.
2Select to currency
Choose the currency you want, such as PKR.
3Enter amount
Type the amount you want to convert.
4View converted amount
The tool uses the latest available exchange rate and your estimated converted value appears instantly, along with the rate in both directions. If one dollar is worth about 277 rupees, then converting $100 gives roughly Rs 27,700.
Why prices change in Pakistan
There is rarely one reason behind a price increase or decrease. International commodity prices, the Pakistani rupee, transportation expenses, taxes, weather, crop production, imports, and local demand can all play a part.
- The effect differs by product. Gold reacts quickly to international precious-metal markets, while other categories follow local supply and seasonal conditions.
- Fuel can influence several other categories, because transportation is involved in moving almost every product around the country.
- Location matters too. A price available in Karachi may not match Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Islamabad, or Peshawar. Notified fuel rates are the exception and stay uniform nationwide.
How we update daily prices
Daily prices are checked against recent official notifications, market reports, associations, manufacturers, dealers, and other reliable sources. Fast-moving categories such as fuel, gold and currencies require particularly frequent checks, and each section on this page says how often its figures change.
All prices on this page should be treated as reference rates rather than guaranteed transaction prices. Fuel stations, banks, currency exchanges, jewellers, cryptocurrency exchanges, and local dealers can show slightly different prices because of margins, fees, location, taxes, spreads, and market movement.
Frequently asked questions
They are shown live at the top of this page: petrol and diesel per litre, the dollar and 160 other currencies against the rupee, gold and silver at spot, and the major cryptocurrencies. Each card carries the date or time its figure came from, so you always know how fresh it is.
Fast-moving rates such as gold, currencies and crypto change through the day and are fetched fresh every time the page loads. Fuel prices update whenever a new government rate takes effect, which under daily pricing can be any night at midnight.
Notified petrol and diesel rates are uniform nationwide. For most other things the answer is no: local supply, transportation, dealer margins, product quality, and demand can create different prices between cities. Even two sellers in the same city may quote different amounts.
Gold, silver, currencies and cryptocurrencies can move minute to minute. Fuel moves whenever a new notification takes effect. Crude oil settles once each trading day.
This page shows the mid-market rate, which sits between what buyers pay and what sellers receive. Open-market dealers quote a buying rate below it and a selling rate above it, and that spread is how the counter earns its margin.
Not exactly. The tola figure here converts the international spot price at the current exchange rate. Sarafa Jewellers Association rates are set locally and usually carry a premium over that, and jewellery adds making charges on top.
Use the tabs at the top of this page to follow fuel, currencies, gold and metals, crypto, crude oil, and fuel prices from more than forty countries. Checking the date of the latest update is important before using any listed figure for a purchase or sale.
