Currency rates in Pakistan today
This page gives you the dollar rate in Pakistan today and the rate of more than 160 other currencies against the Pakistani rupee. Figures are mid-market rates. Your bank or dealer will quote a different buy and sell price.
US dollar to PKR
The dollar is the base for every other rate on this page. When the dollar moves against the rupee, almost every foreign currency moves with it.
Gulf currencies
Dirham, riyal, dinar and rial rates matter most to families who receive money from the Gulf. Open the Gulf tab for all of them.
160+ currencies
From the euro and pound to the yen and rand, every currency is quoted against the rupee with its change over 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days.
Charts up to 1 year
Each currency has its own chart with high, low and average, so you can see whether today is a good day to exchange.
Remittance helper
Type the amount you send and see what your family gets in rupees, for the main sending countries, side by side.
Share the rate
Send the rate as a clear picture on WhatsApp. Pick popular, Gulf or your own set of currencies, or share one currency with its chart.
Interbank, open market and remittance dollar rate
Interbank rate
The rate banks use when they trade dollars with each other. It is the base for the official rate you see in the news.
Open market rate
The rate exchange companies and money changers quote to the public. It can differ from the interbank rate by a few rupees.
Remittance rate
The rate used when money is sent home through a bank or transfer service. Fees and spreads decide how many rupees arrive.

Frequently asked questions
The live USD to PKR rate is shown in the big box at the top of this page. It is the mid-market rate, which is the middle point between buy and sell prices. Banks and open-market dealers use a slightly wider buy and sell spread.
Banks and exchange companies add a spread so they can earn a margin. The open-market rate, the interbank rate and the rate for remittances can all differ by a few rupees. Always ask for the final rate in rupees before you exchange money.
The page checks for new rates every five minutes while it is open. The underlying rate source updates roughly once a day, so the time shown as source updated tells you how fresh the figures really are.
Find the UAE dirham (AED) in the key currencies row or in the table. Tap it to see the rate, a chart, high and low, and a table of common amounts such as 100, 500 and 1,000 dirhams in rupees.
Search for SAR in the table or open the Gulf tab. The SAR to PKR rate, its 24 hour, 7 day and 30 day change and a 30 day chart are shown there.
Use the converter on this page. Enter an amount, pick the two currencies, and the result updates at once. The swap button flips them. You can also tap any currency to use its own quick conversion box.
A red up arrow means the foreign currency got costlier in rupees, which is bad news for a Pakistani buyer. A green down arrow means it got cheaper. We use the same colours across LiveRate.
Charts cover up to one year. Pick 7D, 30D, 90D or 1Y above the chart. Older days are weekly points, so the one year chart is smooth rather than day by day.
Use the remittance row. Enter the amount you plan to send and see what it is worth in rupees for the main sending countries. Your transfer service may charge fees and use its own rate, so the final amount can be lower.
More than 160 world currencies are included and every one is shown against the Pakistani rupee. Use the region tabs for the Gulf, Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Oceania, or search by name or code.
Yes. Tap the star next to a currency and it is saved on your device in the Favorites tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
The interbank rate is the rate banks use when they trade with each other. The open market rate is what exchange companies charge the public, and it is usually a little different. Remittance rates apply to money sent through banks and transfer services. This page shows the mid-market rate, which sits in the middle.
The official and mid-market rate is the same across Pakistan. Exchange companies in different cities may quote a slightly different buy or sell price, so ask for the final rate before you exchange.
Mainly the balance between dollar demand, such as imports and debt payments, and dollar supply, such as exports and remittances. State Bank policy, foreign reserves, oil prices and inflation also matter.
No. The rates are for information only and are mid-market figures. Check the live rate with your bank or dealer before you buy, sell or send money.
